Why Is It Important To Get Legal Representation in Your Native Language?

Video Transcript

It can be important to be able to communicate with someone in your own native language, specifically your attorney or your attorney staff.

Sometimes when you play the telephone game, the translation doesn’t always come across exactly how you meant for it to come across. The person who you’re trying to speak to might not get the message that you were trying to give them. So, if you can speak directly to the individual handling your case in your own native tongue, that can be very useful. It’s just I find that a lot of my Spanish clients want to speak to me directly because it’s just so much easier for them to just tell me in their own language what is happening, what is going on, send me paperwork that’s in English, and I can read it and translate it to them. It’s just very important. And it’s a connection and it’s important to have that connection with the firm that’s handling your case, specifically the attorney and their paralegal.
