Prior Health Condition Worsened With New Injuries
Our client, Ms. Forbes, was a passenger on an Access A Ride bus, that was in a collision with another vehicle. Though she was previously confined to a wheelchair for pre-existing medical conditions, Ms. Forbes suffered a new neck and back injury in the subject incident.
The plaintiff’s prior health issues interfered with her ability to tolerate extensive medical treatment or pain management for her new injuries. According to the doctors who had been treating her for these prior conditions, the bus accident was a significant setback in her recovery process and rehabilitation.
At a pre-trial mediation, parties agreed to settlement in the amount of $165K.
