The Sanders Law Firm is pleased to announce that attorney Catherine J. Fiorentino has joined the firm.

Ms. Fiorentino brings more than a decade of civil litigation experience to her role as Partner. She has defended New York Labor Law construction accident cases and has also litigated matters involving motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, negligent security, medical and professional negligence, wrongful death, toxic torts, construction defects, trademark and copyright infringement, insurance coverage, and general tort liability.

“After twelve years of working with prestigious defense firms throughout New York, representing both large and small companies in all aspects of insurance defense litigation, I am excited to announce that I have returned to the plaintiff’s bar,” said Fiorentino. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to help injured individuals and their families get their lives back on track after life-changing accidents.”

Ms. Fiorentino was named a Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in Construction Litigation in 2021. During her career she has worked with over 30 different insurers, giving her unique insight into what defense attorneys and insurance carriers are looking for when evaluating personal injury claims. She will focus on New York construction accident cases at The Sanders Law Firm.

While New York has some of the strongest protections in the nation for construction workers hurt on the job, including New York Labor Law sections 240 and 241, as well as the recently signed Carlos’ Law, construction remains one of New York City’s most dangerous occupations.

Despite making up just five percent of New York City’s workforce, construction workers account for more than one-quarter of the City’s work-related injury fatalities. From 2018 – 2021, 2,360 construction workers were injured and 44 were killed in NYC, according to the Department of Buildings. Last year was one of the deadliest for City construction work at heights, with more construction deaths involving scaffolding than in any of the previous four years.

The hiring of Fiorentino gives The Sanders Law Firm another highly capable personal injury attorney who can advance the legal cause of injured workers while helping to bring greater accountability to the construction industry.

Since 1967, The Sanders Law Firm has served thousands of injured clients in New York City, Long Island, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, and Staten Island, recovering hundreds of millions of dollars for them. As one of the largest, most aggressive, and most successful personal injury firms in New York, we have the strength to take on construction companies, insurance firms, the medical industry, and other powerful interests.
